DMV

It is official...I am a citizen of the great state of North Carolina.  I missed the very first question on the test and got extremely nervous that I was going to fail.  I pulled it out in the end!

Mama Monday: Fort....Wayne!

Solomon always refers to forts as "Fort Wayne." Today, I spent his nap making the biggest Fort Wayne possible in our living room.  There were tunnels and doors and well...it was pretty awesome if I do say so myself.  Key to Fort Wayne building - fitted sheets that you can hook around chairs and tables.

BBQ - Yes, please.

Grilling out with my dad's famous BBQ sauce.  A little bit of Indiana flavor for us today. 

Chic-fil-A: It's Politically Delicious

Here are four totally non-political reasons to love this place:
1. Their food - seriously...this should be enough of a reason!
2. They have awesome disposable sticky mats for the tables for small children to use.
3. The high chairs are high quality and never broken.
4. The MEN'S restroom has a changing table!!!! ...and a sign that says, "Fathers, if you forgot diapers or wipes ask a staff member.  We have them in the back."

Thursday at the museum

The Charlotte Nature Museum is a great place for the kids.  Solomon especially loved the butterfly pavilion where you can walk among the butterflies.
And I was reminded that when you think you are having a bad day, just remember that someone else's day is probably worse...

Mama Monday: How about Shaker Tuesday?

Yes, I am a day late on my Mama Monday post.  Shakers are so much fun.  All you need is old plastic containers, dried beans, uncooked pasta, and some music to shake to.  Both boys love them.

Family Visit!

It was so wonderful to have family visit!  We had such a wonderful time with Chris's cousins!

Love in the daily things...

I feel like the luckiest woman in the world.  Being at home with my husband and sons is simply the best place.  A little homemade guacamole and laughter at dinner is the best medicine.

Five Years of Marriage!

We had a date today! 3 hours without the kids.  We should have slept, but we did have a fabulous time at an outdoor mall.  Notice this restaurant's name.  It was delicious!

Is this place for real?  It is basically like a kid paradise.  Go there if you ever get to Charlotte!

Feel Their Pain

My oldest is sick right now, and there is no feeling in the world quite as helpless as watching your child in pain.  An afternoon at urgent care and lots of snuggles today.  I do have to admit that I enjoy the snuggle part.

Roger Day in the Park!

One of the joys of living in a city is the free and fantastic events they have for families.  Today, the boys and I rocked out to all the great toddler songs you can imagine!

Mama Monday: Don't Burn Those Boxes

We had hours and hours of fun with two cardboard boxes, "washable" markers, paper plates, and string.  First, I made a car that could strap onto Solomon and he could walk around in it - paper plate wheels and steering wheel, cardboard box body, and string straps.  Then, we parked one of the cars in the "garage" (a lawn mower box) and he did a new paint job on it.  Then, we turned the garage into a tunnel to drive the car through.  Hours o'fun, my friends.

Shopping cart days!

The shopping carts (or should I say shopping cars) in NC are so awesome.  The car part is high and near the parent instead of in the front and on the floor.

Some days I just give up and choose my battles.  Today was one of those days, so I made a theme park in our living room and watched them go crazy!

Mama Monday: String Fun

8Mama Mondays is my way of remembering to do something unique (and super cheap) with my boys each week.

String fun with any lightweight items that have a hole in them.  They played with these strings for a full 45 minutes!  So fun!

First of Many

We debuted my first drawn bulletin cover today.  I have a feeling that I may have a life of drawing bulletin covers for my husband.
