So, some days are just too good for one photo. This evening we went to our first local high school football game. It was fantastic. There were crazy fans, a marching band, about two completed passes the whole game, and a super-kicker...it was everything you want out of high school football. Go Kannapolis Wonders! We are still wondering about that mascot.
Oh, and side note - both our sons kept directing when the band played. They may take after me yet.
Another excellent Friday morning with Daddy. This time at Lake Norman State Park. Life just doesn't get better than this picture.
We found a new park in Charlotte. It is really close to our church and has a HUGE steam locomotive. You can imagine who was REALLY excited.
Yesterday was, well, manic. At one point my wonderful husband just yanked this drawer out and said, "What am I doing?" as all the contents went flying everywhere and Solomon got super excited. This pretty much sums up my day.

My cousin and her family live very close to us. What a blessing! The boys and I spent Thursday morning with Shea and her two youngest daughters - identical twins. Nothing like making your kids sit in the middle of a parking lot for a picture!
On Wednesdays, I volunteer to watch any kids of adults who want to attend the morning Bible study. Today I had a brother and sister who were only 10 months apart and 2 and 3. I was exhausted and needed a nap afterwards!!! But it was so much fun!
I think my father-in-law would go crazy with excitement over all the mushrooms in our yard. However, I am getting pretty tired of saying, "No, don't eat that!" To Solomon. Eating strange mushrooms - not good.
I have been having a lot of trouble getting sleep lately. I lay awake staring into this darkness. Zzzzzzz...wishing I was sleeping while my babies sleep.
We take family walks all the time and it is simply the greatest time we spend together...laughing, talking about our day, getting exercise, and just enjoying nature. I am seriously in love with my boys.
My husband looked at me and said, "Would you like to make your grandma's cookies tonight. Would that be fun to do together?" I love him.
What a fun day at Carolina Beach! You know you are a lucky toddler when your food comes in a car.
Finally, the stander caught on camera. On our walk home from the splash pad, we got totally soaked by the rain. Oh well, I guess. So fun!
So, I did a Momma Monday event today, but I just have to share this instead. Every boy's dream - watching planes take off and land. It was awesome. I had as much fun as my boys.
These were the most delicious ribs I have ever had. My husband is becoming a grill master!
I love our quick and fun family trips to the Nature Museum. What boy doesn't love a good tent?
I feel so blessed to be in an area where my children will grow up with people who are from different races and have varying abilities/disabilities. As a mixed race family, I really cherish these experiences.
Solomon is a VERY MESSY eater. Today's special activity was practicing our table manners while feeding Mr. Stout, our friend, the bear. We strapped him in the booster, gave him a bib, plate, bowl, fork, spoon, and cup, and ate pretend food. We will see if repeating this will help with his dinner skills!
It takes awhile for kids to start to adjust to any new environment. We have been placed into two environments that are distinctly different from our previous experiences. One church is 98% African American while the other is 50% blind. Our children are getting to grow up with so many different people and I couldn't be prouder of how they are warming up.
You might be surprised by how many people give a family strange looks when the father/husband is wearing a collar? Haven't you ever seen a married "father?" :) I love our afternoons in Charlotte! This was on Thursday...I am behind on my posts!
We bought this playset for the boys from a person on Craigslist. It is the best $125 we have spent...tied only with the $125 we spent on our dishwasher from Craigslist last year. Although, Chris says the dishwasher saved our marriage...I guess it still wins.
